Our Mission
MoCA CT is a destination for contemporary visual arts exhibitions, music performances, and comprehensive arts education. Our mission is to build a deeper understanding of, and passion for, the arts by presenting thought-provoking and relevant arts experiences. By sharing a diversity of genres and perspectives, MoCA CT strives to positively impact the community, and to connect and captivate the local, national, and international audience that we serve.

Ruth Mannes has an extensive background in publishing, leadership, community outreach, and fundraising for local causes. In addition, she has been collecting art for over two decades and has been recognized by ARTnews as one of the top 30 young contemporary art collectors in America.


Anne Greenberg brings a rich background to her role as Deputy Director at MoCA CT. With extensive experience in education, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship, she leverages her multifaceted expertise to enhance the museum’s operational management and programmatic offerings.


Janice Egan arrived at MoCA CT with almost two decades of leadership experience in development and fundraising in education. Her passion for the arts and dedication to connecting communities are integral to fulfilling MoCA’s mission to illuminate lives and build a more just world through art, education, and expression.


Colleen Thomas is an advocate for the arts because they inspire individuals and connect communities. Her professional experiences as an educator and museum administrator have shaped her understanding of how it is critical to develop arts opportunities for all.


Kristen Young is passionate and dedicated to bringing the community together through the Performing Arts. She is a classically trained violinist with a Master’s in Violin Performance and Arts Entrepreneurship, who can be spotted performing throughout the state. Kristen has a Master’s in Performance and Arts Entrepreneurship.


As the Head of Exhibitions and a visual artist, Lewis is dedicated to creating opportunities for all visual artists and fostering engaging environments for visitors at MoCA CT. Her passion lies in building meaningful partnerships with visual art institutions, including academia and galleries. Through innovative and collaborative efforts, she strives to elevate the arts community.


At the core of Tess Nimirowski’s work is a celebration of the beauty of the handmade and the triumphs, the imperfections, and the joy of expression that are all part of the process. A graduate of the Parsons The New School for Design BFA Fashion Program, Tess also possesses a literature degree from The New School University, as well as being an Oxford University alumna. She has spent a decade educating her son as a homeschooling parent and has worked as an instructor outside of the home for groups and organizations like the YMCA where she seeks to inspire the love of the arts and education.
Our History and Story
Founding

Rebranding and New Home
Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the organization rebrands as MoCA Westport, signifying a broader mission and vision. It relocates to a historic stone building at 19 Newtown Turnpike, Westport, embracing a new identity as a contemporary art museum and cultural arts center.
